It is with that community spirit we are wishing you and your loved ones a safe and happy holiday season. We can't wait to see what spectacular accomplishments 2021 brings for you!
Sincerely,
The IWBC Team

Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year. -Ralph Waldo Emerson
As the New Year quickly approaches, I am starting to see the flurry of advertising and posts focusing on the "New Year, New Me" mentality and even more so the "Thank goodness 2020 is Over." I want to take a second to challenge these posts and thought processes. Does the changing of one day really change the dynamic of the world? Is 2021 going to be instantly better? I am not underplaying the trying year that 2020 was, but I do not think the change of the day instantly makes things better either. Same goes for the "New Year, New Me," the change of the day does nothing more than give you a new start date of something that will forever require your effort and intent to be better. I bring this challenge to the table to not be a Debbie downer, but to encourage you to preserver through the quick ended themes of that mentality. If you want 2021 to be better or want a New Me, SHOW UP for yourself and your family. Set maintainable expectations of yourself, work on achievable goals, and bring GRATITUDE to your life for what blessings you do have.
Friends, our minds are the most powerful tool we have. I challenge you to set 2021 up to be the best year yet, by being intentional day in and day out with your expectations, goals, and gratitude. YOU HAVE THE POWER. Show up for yourself every single day.
Happy New Year!
Paige Wiscombe, Mentorship Director

12 Ways Leaders Generate Ideas
In his 1962 book, The Structure of Scientific Revolutions, Thomas Kuhn argued that transformative ideas – and with them, scientific progress – don’t arise from the day-to-day process of experimentation and data accumulation, or from ongoing stultified thinking. It’s no different outside the world of science. Ideas and thoughts: What’s the difference? We have hundreds of thoughts every day, but few ideas. An idea is an original, novel thought that changes our mental construct of our universe, planet, business, or even cubicle space. A thought doesn’t necessarily have that effect. Forbes 5 Clear Ways to Tell Whether You'll Be a Good Leader in 2021
The turbulence of 2020 has everyone looking forward to 2021. Even if the year has catalyzed change in positive directions, few of us will be sorry to see 2020 go. For leaders, the weight of responsibility has been especially burdensome, and many hard lessons were learned. In the midst of this, a number of leaders from various backgrounds have shown the durability of their ideas. To gain a better grasp of what conscious decisions leaders will need to make going into 2021, I connected with five executives and thought leaders who shared their top behaviors for next year.
Inc. 3 Reasons Why the New Year Is the Best Time to Start a Business
Whether it’s hitting the gym, rekindling a relationship, or starting a new business, the beginning of the year signifies a fresh start. If you’ve been considering incorporating or forming an LLC, you may be wondering why so many entrepreneurs choose January as the formal “start date” of their new business. After all, we don’t all possibly have the exact same New Year’s resolution, do we? The reality is there are distinct advantages to starting a business at the beginning of the year. Savvy entrepreneurs have goals just like the rest of us, but they time the filing of their legal entity paperwork to save on startup costs and take advantage of tax breaks. They also know how to get started now, before the year’s end, so they can hit the ground running in the new year.
